The Brief-
Understanding the problems, goals & scope definition
The Problem:
Musicians struggle to find collaborators that share their creative vision and struggle to effectively communicate with them.
We Believe-
We believe that developing an app tailored specifically to musicians' needs, would significantly sharpen the collaboration process.
The Impact:
By creating an app that showcases precisely what musicians seek in potential collaborators and simplifying the discovery and communication process, we anticipate increased efficiency, reduced frustrations, and enhanced opportunities for creative collaboration within the music community.
Building Context
Building the background context to inform design decisions
We conducted comprehensive research on the music industry, focusing on how musicians collaborate and create music together. This included conducting individual interviews and online surveys to gather valuable insights.
Using our research findings, we created an empathy map which developed into a user persona. This allowed us to deepen our understanding of the target audience.
User Insights:
Musicians need a solution that helps them discover compatible collaborators, coordinate schedules, share resources, foster a community and communicate effectively.
Collaborating with others is essential for a musicians creative process and musical growth, but current solutions lack comprehensive features and intuitive interfaces tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
Ideation
Refining designs for improvement and inspiring innovative design ideas.
We crafted a value proposition statement for Harmony Hub, followed by an analysis of similar apps in the market. Identifying standout features from these apps, we utilized a feature prioritization matrix to guide our development process.
Testing/Iteration’s
We brought our app to life by starting with sketches of wireframes, followed by low-fidelity frames. We tested user interactions with the app and iterated based on our findings.
To evaluate the effectiveness of our navigation and initial frames, we conducted usability testing where participants were asked to complete two tasks: creating an account and requesting to collaborate with another artist. These are our results from those tests.
UI and Moodboard
We curated a futuristic mood board and style guide aiming to infuse the app with a high-tech, creative, and energetic aesthetic. Our guide centered on a deep purple hue, chosen to evoke a sense of invitation and creativity.
